Commissions

I can accept commission work for many things, but as you can see, I specialise in aircraft, and railways, and of course pencil portraiture, I also enjoy drawing and painting interesting buildings..
Brushwork pictures are painted in acrylics on heavy grade art paper. Pencil works are done on heavy cartridge paper. You will note from the gallery pictures, that the paper I use is not a bright white,( like copier paper for example). A much nicer effect is gained by this, a very white paper tends to give quite a "sterile" effect.
For commission works of most aircraft, and most British Railways locomotives I have mountains of reference material, and can usually acquire pictures of your chosen subject. If you would like me to paint or draw a particular favourite photo, thats no problem. For other works, especially portraits, I need a good clear photograph to work from - in the case of animals, and people , preferably more than one.
Commissions can be undertaken on receipt of your instructions, and a nominal deposit. Currently painting commissions start from around £250, drawings from around £75. For example, a single person/pet portrait would generally be £75 plus the frame (whatever frame you choose) a painting of an aircraft with simple sky/cloud background would be around £250 plus the frame. Obviously the more complex the work, the longer it would take, and the cost would increase respectively.
I am always very happy to give a no-obligation quotation for commissions, so please don't hesitate to email me your request. I would much rather deliver original works in person, especially paintings, and especially if framed, (a small fee may apply if I travel some distance) or you can collect from my Longton studio, but I am able able to send original drawings in a heavy postal tube by registered mail if preferred.
